This seven-volume series contains abstracts of deeds and condemnations for the lands acquired by the canal company between 1825 and 1886 (with one deed added to Abstract C dating from 1887). The abstracts were made roughly at the same time the original canal weir maps were completed (see Map Collection). Volumes 1 to 4 are the original set, while volumes 5 to 7 are a duplicates for the first three volumes (Essex, Passaic and Morris Counties) which also contain notations in pencil not entered in the original volumes. |
