series contains records related to medical organizations within
the National Guard. The earliest records, for the Hospital and Ambulance
Corps, end in 1900. In 1908, Detachments of Hospital Corps, later
Sanitary Troops, were formed within each regiment, including Cavalry,
Field Artillery and Signal Corps. These records are organized first
by the organization, then by type of record and, finally, chronologically.
